In early 2009 discussions were initiated with Kunsteibahn am Köningssee i Germany (The international center for Rodel, Bob and Skeleton) to try the Realice system. The management and operational staff were looking ways to make a harder an more durable ice. After meeting with our German representative the Köningssee team decided to start test phase 1 - try the Realice system on the Start Practicing Ramp next to the main track. The test results were very positive and Realice gave a more durable ice. The only concern when moving on to Phase 2 (main track) was that the track could be to fast.
Phase 2 started during autumn 2009 and the result was a success. In beginning of January of 2010 a new track record was set at an international competition at Kunsteibahn am Köningssee.
This successful project is one example of tests that are currently run within Application Area - Realice.
